Parliamentarians for Jerusalem and Palestine Condemn the Brutal Israeli Bombing of Nasser Hospital in Southern Gaza

The Association of Parliamentarians for Jerusalem and Palestine strongly condemns, in the strongest terms, the brutal bombing carried out by Israeli occupation forces against Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. This attack represents a continuation of a systematic policy targeting medical facilities and healthcare workers throughout the Gaza Strip.

This blatant assault adds to a series of crimes committed by the occupation against healthcare institutions, including massacres at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, and Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

In addition to the ongoing siege, the occupation has repeatedly raided hospitals in the West Bank, including Jenin Governmental Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, where they conducted arrests of wounded patients and assaulted medical staff.

These violations have escalated to the extent of conducting assassinations inside hospitals. Such incidents include those at the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah and Ibn Sina Hospital, where Israeli special forces disguised as medical personnel infiltrated the facilities and cold-bloodedly executed wounded individuals.

These actions constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which provides special protection for hospitals and medical personnel during armed conflict.

The Association expresses its deep concern over the deliberate destruction of the healthcare system in Gaza, which exacerbates civilian suffering and hinders the provision of essential medical services. The targeting of medical facilities amounts to a war crime, requiring the prosecution of those responsible in international courts.

The Association of Parliamentarians for Jerusalem and Palestine calls on the international community, including parliaments and legislative bodies worldwide, to take firm stances and effective actions to stop these repeated attacks and to provide urgent protection for medical facilities and staff.

Furthermore, the Association demands the immediate launch of independent international investigations into these crimes and the prosecution of those responsible, to ensure accountability, prevent recurrence, and uphold the principles of international law and human rights.
