League Delegation Meets with Parliamentary Groups in Morocco and Emphasizes the Importance of Parliamentary Action to Support Gaza
A delegation from the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine met with a number of parliamentary groups and blocs in the Moroccan House of Representatives, as part of a visit aimed at strengthening joint parliamentary work and coordinating efforts in support of the Palestinian cause, particularly in light of the ongoing war of genocide on the Gaza Strip and the continuous Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
The delegation was headed by the Secretary-General of the League, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, along with deputies from several Arab and African countries.
The meetings addressed a number of pressing issues, foremost of which were the developments of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, the challenges facing parliamentary action in supporting Palestinian rights, in addition to the importance of activating digital diplomacy in confronting the Israeli narrative and exposing the crimes of the occupation at the international level.
In his remarks during the meetings, the Secretary-General of the League affirmed that "what is happening in Gaza today is a documented crime of genocide fueled by a political umbrella and a suspicious international silence," stressing that "parliamentary institutions around the world are called upon to bear their moral and legal responsibilities, and to take active steps to stop these massacres, and hold the occupation accountable before international bodies."
Balawi also praised the positions of the various parliamentary groups, stressing that the League is working to build international parliamentary alliances to defend the rights of the Palestinians, document the crimes of the occupation, and expose bias in international platforms.
He called for activating the tools of digital parliamentary media to confront disinformation campaigns and support popular initiatives such as the Global March to Rafah.
These meetings are part of a series of moves implemented by the League in various countries, within the framework of its vision to enhance the global parliamentary presence in issues of justice and freedom, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue.
