The President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, warned of the unprecedented escalation in the Israeli occupation's aggression against the Palestinian people, affirming that the public partnership and political support from the current US administration constitute a cover for the continuation of the genocide war targeting Gaza, in addition to the dangerous escalation in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

President of the League: The occupation has exceeded all limits and exceptional steps must be taken to confront its aggression

The President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, warned of the unprecedented escalation in the Israeli occupation's aggression against the Palestinian people, affirming that the open partnership and political support from the current U.S. administration constitute a cover for the continuation of the genocide war inflicted on Gaza, in addition to the dangerous escalation in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

Al-Ahmar said during the executive committee meeting of the League that the Israeli occupation is no longer deterred by anything in the absence of international accountability, and "the protection of the criminal mentality leading the Israeli government" by the U.S. administration.

He emphasized that the international community "loses what remains of its credibility when even mentioning Israel's name is prohibited in the Security Council statements by the United States, during the discussion of the Israeli bombing of the Qatari capital, Doha, the intermediary state in ceasefire negotiations."

He described the Israeli bombing of Doha as "a highly dangerous development and a precedent that violates diplomatic norms, revealing the occupation's contempt for all international values and laws," adding that the Security Council's prevention of condemning Israel by name is a clear bias that harms the United Nations' status.

Al-Ahmar criticized the "explicit threats" issued by some American leaders against the International Criminal Court, should it proceed in prosecuting Israeli war criminals, considering that "international justice today is blatantly violated"."

The league's president called on parliamentarians around the world to fulfill their responsibilities in representing their peoples, whose positions have become clear in rejecting aggression and calling for an end to genocide, pointing out that "successive recognitions of the Palestinian state have not succeeded in changing the current reality, due to the stubbornness of the Netanyahu government and its refusal to comply with international decisions and eliminate the state's components.".

He called for taking exceptional steps in light of "the difficult and dangerous reality facing the Palestinian issue," emphasizing that the time has come to activate new pressure tools that go beyond verbal condemnation and put an end to the ongoing occupation crimes.
